Many Members try their hand at managing a team in Fantasy Football League. This free of charge, friendly competition culminates with the Winning Team Owner’s name inscribed on a plaque in the Active Crew Room, plus prizes for the top finishers.

Every Summer, Fort Washington Fire Company, Roslyn’s neighbor to the West, hosts surrounding Departments at their Training Facility in a yearly challenge called “Rocket Wars”. The objective is to use a stream of water from a fire hose to propel a metal barrel, suspended on a cable above, past your opponent’s team. Easier said than done, the task is made more difficult as night falls and each team is inevitably soaked by their opponent’s water stream. Food and socializing follows and the Top Prize is bragging rights ! The 2008-09 Rocket Wars Champions: Roslyn Fire Company !

A more formal Banquet is held every Fall where members gather to celebrate a year of successful community service and share in their accomplishments. Recognition is given to members celebrating milestones in their career with the Volunteer Service. A “Firefighter of the Year” is selected and recognized for his or her dedication to the betterment of themselves as a Firefighter as well as their commitment to the enrichment of the Community through their involvement with the Roslyn Fire Company.
