The Roslyn Fire Company was dispatched
to call number 312 at approximately
16:21 hours for a reported dwelling fire on
the 2600 block of Phipps Ave.
Chief 500 arrived on location reporting a
one and a half story single family dwelling with
a
heavy fire condition to the rear of the
residence.
Chief 500 and Lt 501 received unconfirmed
reports of entrapment from PD and
neighbors and forced entry to the front
door of the residence but were immediately
pushed back by heavy fire and smoke conditions.
Upon arrival, Engine 500 went in service with
one handline and began placing a knock on
the fire. Interior crews found heavy fire conditions
throughout the residence. Crews from Squad 100
went in service with Engine 500 as search and
ventilation.
All primary and secondary searches were negative
and the bulk of the fire was knocked down within
the first 20 minute mark
.
Crews remained in service for extensive overhaul
and 500 was made available at 21:53 hours.
Local, county and state fire Marshals were requested
to the scene for further investigation.
This fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
