Station 500

 

Station is located at 1128 Bradfield Rd in the Roslyn section of Abington Township, behind the WaWa on Susquehanna Road.

Engine 500

 

       This 1993 Spartan Motors/3D Manufacturing Engine Features a Hale 2000 gallon per minute, two stage pump and a 750 gallon water tank. It has the capability of being supplied through 1500 feet of five inch line. The engine is primarily set-up for structural fire fighting duties and has five pre-connected attack lines with the primary size  being one and three-quarter inch.  Additionally, a pre-piped deck gun is available for use on the engine and has the capability of being portable. The enclosed cab is rated for eight personnel, with sufficient self-contained breathing apparatus to outfit seven fire fighters. The driver has a separately supplied air system. The apparatus has a 7.5 kw generator and a Pheonix telescoping light tower. Auxiliary equipment includes a PPV fan, portable lights, a variety of hand tools, and a MSA Evolution 4000 Thermal Imaging Camera. Electronic equipment includes an AIM Gas Detector and Rayteck Temperature Detector. Each pumper is equipped with an on-board foam system.

 

 

Squad 500

 

 This 1993 Spartan Motors/3D Manufacturing Engine Features a Hale 2000 gallon per minute, two stage pump and a 750 gallon water tank. It has the capability of being supplied through 1500 feet of five inch line. The Squad is primarily set-up as a light rescue engine and serves as back-up for Engine 500. It has five pre-connected attack lines with the primary size being one and three-quarter inch. Additionally, a pre-piped deck gun is available for use on the engine and has the capability of being portable. The enclosed cab is rated for eight personnel, with sufficient self-contained breathing apparatus to outfit seven fire fighters. The driver has a separately supplied air system. The apparatus has a 7.5 kw generator and a Phoenix telescoping light tower. The squad features Holmatro Rescue equipment, including: a cutter, spreader, airbags, and rams. Additionally, there is wooden and molded plastic cribbing, high lift jacks, and basic confined space rescue items. Auxiliary equipment includes a PPV Fan, portable lights, and a variety of hand tools. Electronic equipment includes a Rayteck Temperature detector. Each pumper is equipped with an on-board foam system. The squad carries twenty five additional gallons of AFFF foam.

 

 

Tower 500

 

           This 2001 Pierce 95 foot Mid-mount Tower Ladder features over one hundred twenty-five feet of ground ladders.  The apparatus has a 1500 gpm pump and a 200 gallon tank.  This apparatus is rated for six personnel, with sufficient breathing apparatus for five personnel.  Also has on-board air supply for two personnel in the platform as well as the driver.  The apparatus has a 7.5 kw generator.  The boom is pre-piped with a deck gun as well as a one and three-quarter inch and a two and half inch pre-piped connections off the platform.  Alone with a fifty-foot length of one and three-quarter inch attack line in the bucket.  The apparatus features a variety of roof tools, hand tools, ventilation equipment, salvage covers and a limited supply of structural collapse tools.

 

 

Special Service 500

 

This 1997 Ford F-350 Detroit Diesel Pick-up with four-doors serves as many things for Roslyn Fire Company, some of these are being part of Montgomery County HAZMAT Team 919.  The truck carries some pigs and pads on it, along with a portable Generator and a water pump for Special Service calls for flooded out basements, along with cord reels and hand-lights.  This truck is also used by our personnel to transport them and there gear to any training school classes as well as a support vehicle to the Company when needed.  Abington Township Residents may also know this truck as the delivery truck for Roslyn Fire Company's Annual Christmas Tree Sale and the truck that pulls Santa Claus around the Roslyn and Crestmont Sections of Abington Township the weekend before Christmas every year.
